The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has uncovered an illegal alcohol production operation in Lagos State, seizing fake drinks valued at over 114 million naira.
In a statement issued on Thursday, NAFDAC said one Madu Abuchi Simon was arrested while counterfeiting popular brands including Hennessy, Baileys, Martell, Jameson, and others. A raid on the premises led to the discovery of expired Amarula cream liqueur, used branded bottles, counterfeit labels, and chemicals believed to be used in the production process.
