Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out any ceasefire agreement that leaves Hamas in control of the Gaza Strip, insisting the war will only end with the group’s total defeat.
Speaking ahead of his departure to Washington, Netanyahu told Israeli media that Hamas must be stripped of its military capabilities, warning that no deal should reward violence.

While Israeli negotiators headed to Doha for indirect talks with Hamas, Netanyahu was en route to meet US President Donald Trump, whom he praised for what he called a decisive victory over Iran in last month’s 12-day conflict.
He said recent developments offered a rare opportunity to reshape the Middle East for the better.
