Nigerian music star Timaya has denied rumours of retirement, insisting he is merely taking a break. The Bayelsa-born singer clarified via social media that his absence from the music scene is a temporary pause, not a permanent exit.
Known for his breakout single ‘Dem Mama’ in 2005—an emotive account of the Odi massacre—Timaya has since built a two-decade career spanning eight albums, an EP, and numerous hit singles.

The self-styled Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa has worked with global acts including Sean Paul and Morgan Heritage.
He reassured fans of his return in due course.
