The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has urged Nigerians to support the Armed Forces in its fight against violent groups and insurgents. Speaking at the first Voice of Nigeria Forum in Abuja, General Musa highlighted the importance of trust, civic engagement and responsible narratives in tackling insecurity.
The Director of Legal Services at the Office of the National Security Adviser, Zakari Mijinyawa, speaking on behalf of NSA Nuhu Ribadu, stated that security is not the exclusive responsibility of the military or intelligence agencies. He called for a collective effort from citizens to help build a safer and more secure country.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, also addressed the gathering, commending the sacrifices of the Armed Forces. He encouraged journalists to focus on reporting the achievements of the military rather than giving undue coverage to terrorist acts.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s North-East region has been a target of deadly attacks by terrorists for more than a decade. Recent reports revealed that in June, suicide bombers killed at least 32 people, leaving scores injured. The military has made some gains in the fight, but porous borders with Cameroon continue to provide safe havens for insurgents who slip across after launching brutal attacks.
