Workers at the Nigerian Meteorological Agency have asked their national union leaders to revive a previously suspended strike over unpaid minimum wage arrears and outstanding allowances.
In a letter signed by representatives of three in-house unions, the workers said management had failed to honour an agreed payment schedule reached after government intervention.
They claim staff are still owed nine months of 2019 minimum wage arrears, four months of 2024 arrears and several allowances. The unions said employees had shown patience despite repeated delays but warned that all avenues for dialogue had been exhausted.
The group has urged the National Joint Action Committee to reactivate the suspended strike within one week if the outstanding entitlements remain unpaid.
