An explosion at a bus-stop along the Mararaba-Nyanya expressway in Abuja left one man injured on Monday afternoon.
The blast occurred opposite Mogadishu Cantonment in Asokoro, according to a brief statement from the Nigerian Army, which confirmed that the situation is now under control.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command said officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal, EOD, Unit were swiftly deployed to secure the scene and begin investigations.

Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh confirmed that the injured man was rescued and is receiving treatment in hospital.
Authorities say the area has been cordoned off and a forensic investigation is under way to determine the cause and nature of the explosion.
No further casualties were reported, and officials have urged residents to remain calm as security operations continue.
