Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, says he is prepared to serve only one term if elected in 2027.
Speaking during a Twitter Space on Sunday, Mr. Obi said the presidency should return to the north in 2031, in line with Nigeria’s zoning tradition.

He pledged to leave office on May 28, 2031, stressing that power rotation must be respected.
Mr. Obi is in coalition talks with key opposition figures including Atiku Abubakar and Nasir el-Rufai.
He said his ambition is driven by service, not desperation, and vowed to prioritise competence and compassion in governance.
