The Nigerian presidency has called for an immediate end to the circulation of campaign materials promoting a second term for President Bola Tinubu, describing the move as both unlawful and ill-timed.
In a statement issued on Sunday, presidential adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, criticised the growing display of pro-Tinubu 2027 billboards in various cities, warning that such actions contravene electoral regulations.

Mr Onanuga reminded political supporters that formal campaigning is prohibited until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) releases its official timetable for the 2027 general elections.
He urged individuals and groups behind the campaign to comply with the law and refrain from actions that could attract sanctions from relevant authorities.
