Demonstrators clad in black took to the streets of Port Harcourt on Tuesday, urging President Bola Tinubu to recall Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.
The group, which marched through key parts of the city, also called for an end to the state of emergency and the reinstatement of the State House of Assembly, which was suspended following the political crisis that engulfed the state.

Their protest adds to a growing wave of public demonstrations, both in support of and against federal intervention, since the emergency declaration and the appointment of retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as sole administrator.
Some protesters went as far as pledging electoral support for President Tinubu in 2027, should their demands be met. The presidency has yet to respond officially to the protest.
