The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross, has concluded a three-day first aid training for journalists in Lagos, aimed at improving their response during conflict and disaster coverage.
Held from June 23 to 25, the course trained over 25 media professionals in handling prehospital injuries—crucial for reporters often first on the scene in volatile situations.
ICRC spokesperson Aliyu Dawobe said Lagos was chosen as Nigeria’s media hub, noting that the training enhances the safety and humanitarian reporting skills of participants.
