Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged All Progressives Congress, APC, candidates in the forthcoming July 12 local government elections not to treat the polls lightly.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Marina, where party flags were presented to chairmanship and councillorship candidates, Governor Sanwo-Olu reminded aspirants that every election is local and must be approached with seriousness.
He conveyed appreciation on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, urging party members to validate APC’s dominance in Lagos through door-to-door engagement and unity of purpose.

While acknowledging tensions following the primaries, the governor called for reconciliation and party discipline, stressing that decisions taken by the party must be respected.
He also cautioned against internal divisions and appealed to candidates to remain fair, inclusive and focused on service delivery once elected.
The APC leadership reiterated its confidence in the candidates’ ability to deliver.
