Spyro Denies Claim of Career Setback After Davido Collaboration

Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro, has denied reports suggesting he blamed a past collaboration with Davido and Mayorkun for a downturn in his career.

The controversy stems from an online post quoting Spyro as saying his 2018 remix of the song ‘Funke’, featuring the two artists, resulted in an unexpected setback despite early success. The remark, widely shared on social media, triggered criticism from Davido’s supporters, who accused Spyro of deflecting responsibility.

The post, made by a blog under the X handle @Naija_PR, included photos of Spyro and Davido alongside the disputed caption.

Spyro has since refuted the statement, describing it as false and misleading. He issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the blog to retract the post or face legal consequences, asserting he made no such claim during the referenced interview.
