Several students were reportedly abducted after suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked Mussa-Biri Primary and Junior Day Secondary Schools in Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attack happened early on Friday while students were in class receiving lessons. Eyewitnesses said the attackers arrived on motorcycles shortly after military personnel on routine patrol had left the area.
According to local sources, the gunmen abducted an unspecified number of students and one teacher from the schools located in the Mussa-Biri community, near the Sambisa Forest.

However, another source later confirmed that the abducted teacher and some students had been released, with four students still unaccounted for. The spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, Nahum Daso, said communication difficulties had prevented contact with officers in the area.
