President Bola Tinubu has drawn attention with his pointed praise for Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo—sidestepping his own party’s state chapter during an official visit to Awka.
Addressing a crowd at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the President hailed Governor Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, as a trusted ally and reformer, highlighting their collaboration dating back to the early days of his administration.

President Tinubu commended the governor’s infrastructure drive and described his earlier success in banking consolidation as pivotal to national progress.
Calling the governor “a progressive” while affirming they were “working together from the centre,” the president’s comments were seen as a subtle rebuff to the APC’s state chapter, further underscoring Governor Soludo’s growing stature in both state and national politics.
