U.S. President Donald Trump says negotiations aimed at ending the Iran war will begin on Monday after he suspended planned large-scale military strikes to allow diplomacy a chance.
Trump said regional partners had agreed on the broad outlines of a deal, but Iran denied that direct talks with Washington were taking place, saying discussions remain limited to indirect mediation through Oman.
Meanwhile, Israeli military operations continued in Gaza, where local health officials said at least 17 people were killed in weekend airstrikes. Humanitarian agencies have also warned of worsening conditions for displaced civilians facing shortages of food, water and shelter.
