Nigeria and Rwanda have scheduled key international friendlies during the upcoming FIFA window as both nations intensify preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles will take part in a four-nation tournament in May, facing arch-rivals Ghana alongside Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago. A separate fixture against Russia is also being arranged, with confirmation expected shortly.

The friendlies serve as tune-ups for Nigeria’s crucial Group C qualifiers in September.
Meanwhile, Rwanda will face Group G leaders Algeria in Algiers on 5 June, in a match that offers a stern test for coach Adel Amrouche’s side. The fixture will help assess player readiness ahead of Rwanda’s qualifiers against Nigeria and Zimbabwe later that month.
For Algeria, the encounter provides ideal preparation for their own qualifying clashes with Botswana and Guinea, as they look to maintain top spot in the group.
