Arsenal Win Premier League After 22-Year Wait

Arsenal have won the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth on Tuesday night. The result means Mikel Arteta’s side cannot be caught ahead of the final round of matches.

The Gunners moved to the brink of the title on Monday with a 1-0 victory over already relegated Burnley, opening a five-point lead over City. Arsenal have now ended a six-year trophy drought after finishing second in each of the previous three seasons.

Bournemouth took the lead in the 39th minute through teenager Eli Junior Kroupi before Erling Haaland scored a late equaliser for Manchester City in stoppage time. The draw extended Bournemouth’s unbeaten league run to 17 matches and secured the club a place in European competition next season.

Manchester City needed a victory to keep the title race alive until the final day. The result also came amid reports that City manager Pep Guardiola will leave the club at the end of the season after a decade in charge and 20 major trophies.
