The Edo State Government has approved the reopening of three secondary schools in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area that were shut over a reported kidnap threat. The affected schools, Ososo Grammar School, Ososo Comprehensive High School and Makeke Secondary School, will resume academic activities on Monday, June 15.
The state’s Ministry of Education said the decision followed a security review by relevant agencies, which confirmed that enhanced safety measures had been put in place. The schools were closed on Wednesday after a Department of State Services report warned of a planned mass abduction of students in Edo North Senatorial District.
