The Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed 1,542 personnel across the state ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The State Commandant, Saidi Akintayo, announced the deployment during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Benin City. He said the operation followed directives from the Commandant General of the corps, Ahmed Audi.
According to Akintayo, personnel drawn from tactical, counter-terrorism, intelligence, armed squad, Agro Rangers, and other specialised units have been stationed at Eid prayer grounds, markets, highways, motor parks, worship centres, and other vulnerable locations across the three senatorial districts of Edo State.

The commandant directed officers to intensify patrols and intelligence gathering during the festive period. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
