The Nigerian Army has buried Brigadier General Oseni Braimah, Captain Ismail, and other soldiers killed in a recent insurgent attack in Borno State. The burial ceremony took place on Wednesday at the Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery in Maiduguri, where the fallen officers and men were laid to rest with full military honours.
Brigadier General Oseni Braimah and his colleagues were killed on April 9 when suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province fighters launched coordinated attacks on military positions in Benisheikh, a strategic town in Kaga Local Government Area along the Maiduguri to Damaturu highway.
The Nigerian Army described the ceremony as solemn and emotionally charged, noting that the soldiers were honoured for their service and sacrifice to the nation. The Army said their deaths highlight the risks faced daily by members of the Armed Forces in the effort to protect Nigeria’s peace and security.
