The presiding judge, Justice S.A. Amobeda, granted an ex parte motion filed by the applicant, Aminu Ado Bayero, the dethroned Emir of Kano. The order was given hours after a state high court restrained him from parading himself as the Emir of Kano.

Justice Amobeda ordered Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, and Hussain Gumel, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, to ensure that all rights and privileges of an Emir are given to Aminu Ado Bayero.
