Two suspected kidnappers have been killed in a gun battle with security operatives in the Obajana area of Kogi State.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the command, Superintendent of Police William Ovye Aya, said they acted on a tipoff which resulted in the security operatives engaging the suspects.
He also said upon sighting the team, the suspected kidnappers opened fire on the security team, who returned fire, killing two while one suspect fled.

According to him, the operation was a collaborative effort between the State Police Command and Fulani vigilantes inside the Ankumi forest.
Items recovered from the suspects included one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and two rounds of live ammunition.
