A magistrate court in Bolade Oshodi has ordered the remand of 34 individuals in prison custody until 22 July 2025 for engaging in street trading on the median of the Alaba Rago section of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The group, comprising 32 men and two women, was arrested during a weekend operation by officials of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) and the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). The operation aimed to clear the median, which had been taken over by traders who erected illegal structures.

Authorities report that some of those arrested were suspected miscreants who had been sleeping in makeshift sheds on the median to carry out criminal activities in the area.
The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the government is committed to enforcing the law against deviant behaviour and urged residents to support efforts for a cleaner and more sustainable Lagos.
