Pop and Afrobeat stars Davido, Tems, Rema, and Zerry DL were some of the big winners at the 17th edition of the Headies Awards held in Lagos on Sunday. The prestigious music awards returned to Nigeria after two years in Atlanta, celebrating talent across 31 categories.
Rema took home Afrobeats Album of the Year for his project ‘HE IS’, while Tems clinched Best Recording of the Year for ‘Burning’. Davido was recognised as Digital Artiste of the Year, while Zerry DL was named Rookie of the Year.

Odumodublvck emerged as the Next Rated Artist, beating out competition from Shallipopi, Qing Madi, and Ayo Maff. The night also honoured notable figures like Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who received a Special Recognition Award for his contributions to the creative industries.
The event, themed “Back to Base” and “Apologetically African”, also introduced two new categories: Soundtrack of the Year, which went to Funke Akindele’s ‘A Tribe Called Judah’, and Best Performer (Live). The awards recognised achievements within the eligibility window of April 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024.
