The Federal Government has handed over 20 resettlement housing units to families displaced by recurrent flooding in Benue State. The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission, N-HYPPADEC, handed over the completed homes during the inauguration of the project at Mbagen in Buruku Local Government Area.
The commission said the 20 units comprise 10 houses in Buruku and another 10 in Guma Local Government Area. N-HYPPADEC Managing Director Sadiq Yelwa said 63 housing units had been approved across beneficiary local government areas in Benue, with the first 20 now completed and ready for occupation.
The project is aimed at restoring hope and dignity to families affected by flooding. The commission said it remains committed to completing the remaining units and supporting vulnerable communities across the state.
