Sporting Lagos have secured promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League after a 1-0 away win over Osun United in Ileogbo on Thursday. The result confirms their return to the top flight two years after relegation.
The decisive goal came in the 17th minute when Alex Leme headed in from an Aliyu Baba cross at the Lanre Leke Township Stadium. Sporting Lagos held on under pressure, with goalkeeper Clinton Lawal making key saves to preserve the lead.
The Lagos-based side finished top of the Nigeria National League Conference B with 36 points from 18 matches, one point ahead of Akwa United. They are now one of four clubs promoted to the NPFL for the 2026/27 season.
