Damilola Basirat Ayinde Marshal, the daughter of Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, has won the All Progressives Congress, APC, ticket to contest a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The primary election for the Surulere Constituency 2 seat was held on Wednesday across various wards in Lagos. Damilola, a lawyer and politician, emerged as the party’s candidate after the contest.
She declared her ambition in March and has since been engaging community leaders, youths, and women’s groups in Surulere ahead of the primaries.

Damilola, who was appointed in 2024 as Senior Special Assistant on Tourism to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Lagos and was called to the bar in 2015.
