Aviation workers issue second ultimatum over unpaid ticket sales charges

Aviation workers have issued a second seven-day ultimatum to airlines and other aviation operators over the continued failure to remit the statutory five per cent Ticket Sales Charge (TSC) to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) warned that nationwide picketing and other industrial actions would begin if the outstanding payments remain unpaid after the latest deadline expires.

The unions said the non-remittance has deprived the NCAA of critical revenue needed to fund safety oversight, regulatory activities and workers’ welfare. An earlier 14-day ultimatum elapsed July 23rd without compliance by the affected operators.

The workers urged defaulting airlines to settle their obligations promptly to avoid disruptions across Nigeria’s aviation sector.
