The Federal Government has moved to allay public concern following a US Embassy advisory limiting non-official movement by its staff in Abuja.
In a statement issued Monday, Information Minister Mohammed Idris said there was no specific threat to the Federal Capital Territory and assured that security agencies remain fully deployed across the city.

He described Abuja as ‘safe for citizens, residents and visitors alike,’ adding that Nigeria’s security architecture continues to operate proactively and effectively.
The US advisory, which cited global developments, urged its personnel to avoid non-official visits to military and government facilities in the capital.
Mr Idris said the advisory was routine and not linked to any imminent danger.
He encouraged residents to go about their lawful activities and emphasised the importance of public cooperation.
The government reiterated its commitment to keeping Abuja among the safest capital cities in the world.
