Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed 10,000 professional kits to midwives in the South-East region as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery.
Speaking in Enugu during her two-day visit, Mrs Tinubu said the initiative covers the states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo, and supports the Federal Government’s ongoing retraining of health workers. The distribution is under her Renewed Hope Initiative, which since January has provided 50,000 scrubs and pairs of crocs across five geopolitical zones.

Mrs Tinubu highlighted that the project has been made possible through donations from Anonymous Global Partners, aimed at enhancing health outcomes in Nigeria and reducing infant and maternal mortality. She also announced a grant of N50 million for 1,000 women petty traders in Enugu to boost their businesses.
The First Lady of Enugu State, Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah, expressed gratitude for the impact of the initiative, while Mrs Tinubu also commissioned a new Technical, Vocational Education, and Training College in Enugu.
