A Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed 7 October for the arraignment of MultiChoice Nigeria Chairman, Mr. Adewunmi Ogunsanya, and CEO, Mr. John Ugbe, over alleged violations of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Council, FCCPC, Act.
The case, brought by the FCCPC, also involves six senior executives of the pay-TV giant, including MultiChoice Africa CEO Ms. Fhulufhelo Badugela and its CFO.

Justice James Omotosho granted the adjournment after prosecutors said court documents had not been properly served. The charges, dated 26 May, include failure to honour a lawful summons and obstruction of regulatory investigations.
The FCCPC had summoned MultiChoice to explain its recent subscription price hike, amid concerns of market abuse.
The company’s earlier legal attempt to halt FCCPC’s probe was dismissed, with the court ruling it amounted to an abuse of process.
MultiChoice operates DStv and GOtv across Nigeria.
