Osun 2026: Adeleke, Oyebamiji representatives sign peace accord

FG plans specialised college to train military doctors, nurses

Candidates in the August 15 Osun governorship election have signed a peace accord ahead of the poll. Governor Ademola Adeleke signed the document personally, while APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji and other candidates were represented by their deputies or party officials.

The accord was organised by the National Peace Committee in partnership with INEC. INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan warned political parties, candidates and supporters against violence, vote-buying and attempts to disrupt the election, saying offenders would face the full weight of the law.

He said INEC had completed 11 of the 13 activities on its election timetable, with the end of campaigns and election day remaining. The commission plans to deploy personnel across Osun’s 30 local government areas, 332 registration areas and 3,763 polling units.
