A joint security operation has successfully thwarted a kidnap attempt and rescued 11 victims in Katsina State’s Danmusa Local Government Area.
According to the Katsina Police Command, the rescue took place on Saturday night during a routine patrol by a combined team of police officers, military personnel, DSS operatives, vigilantes, and members of the Community Watch Corps.
The team encountered armed bandits along the Danmusa–Mara Dangeza road. A firefight ensued, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their victims and flee.

All 11 hostages—nine women and two men—were safely recovered. The victims were reportedly taken from Damawa in Kankara, Bakam in Musawa, and Danmusa town.
Commissioner of Police Bello Shehu praised the operatives for their swift response and reiterated the command’s commitment to joint operations against insecurity.
He also urged residents to report suspicious activities promptly to local authorities.
