The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says it intercepted over ₦10 billion worth of cocaine, synthetic cannabis and opioids at Lagos ports in a series of operations last week.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said Onuigbo Ndubisi Chinedu, 55, a Balogun Market clothing trader, was arrested July 23 after officers intercepted 3.30 kilograms of cocaine hidden in food cartons bound for the UK, exposing him as the alleged kingpin behind a trafficking syndicate involving three cargo agents and a courier.
Separately, operatives recovered 2.24 million Tapentadol pills worth over ₦2.2 billion from an India-to-Lagos shipment, and 4,777 sachets of Canadian Loud worth over ₦7.1 billion concealed in vehicles at Apapa Seaport. NDLEA also intercepted 401 rounds of military-grade ammunition in separate Katsina and Kaduna operations.
