Professor of Political Economy, Pat Utomi, has criticised the All Progressives Congress, APC, for dismissing his newly launched shadow cabinet. The APC spokesperson, Felix Morka, had described Utomi as an “intellectual drama king” following the unveiling of the Big Tent Coalition Shadow Government.
In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, Utomi said the ruling party’s response reflected fear of scrutiny. He recalled Morka once rode with him to meetings to encourage civic initiatives similar to those now being criticised.

Utomi argued that mature democracies welcome public oversight and open debate, describing the government’s reaction as panic. He added that his plan to mobilise 7.2 million Nigerians to converge on Abuja for a ‘Freedom Converge’ protest aims to reclaim the country from what he called “state capture and self-serving leadership.”
